David C. Dahlquist, the
Chorale's founder and musical director, retired in 2005 as the choral
director at Payson High School after a successful thirty-year teaching
career. The choir's alumni have established a scholarship fund in
his name to aid deserving music students in furthering their education.
Lisa Tensmeyer Hansen,
earned her
B.S. (Honors with Distinction) from BYU in 1990 where she was a Spencer
W. Kimball Scholar and University Valedictorian. A native of
Indianapolis, Indiana, she first joined the Payson Civic Chorale in
1982. She received a composition award from BYU and has composed and
arranged many songs for performance. A song written with her husband,
Bill Hansen, is published internationally in the Primary Children=s
Songbook.
