Payson Civic Chorale

Our History

The Payson Civic Chorale grew out of a tradition of a biannual citywide performance of Handel's Messiah.  The Chorale continues to sponsor a Messiah Sing-Along in Payson each year as one of their annual musical offerings.  They are looking forward to their thirty-year anniversary as an organization in 2011.

The Chorale has just successfully completed a concert tour in Hawaii in the summer of 2009.  Other performances have been on stage at Carnegie Hall in New York City, perfomances at the World's Fair in New Orleans, achieving top honors in the community choir division of the Jackson Hole Chorale Festival and countless performances in the Tablernacle and Assembly Hall on Temple Square in Salt Lake City and both the St. George and Provo Tabernacles.

The Chorale has also toured and performed in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Nauvoo and even Mexico.

The Chorale in Hawaii

After working and rehearsing and scrimping and saving for several years, the Chorale went on tour in June to Oahu, Hawaii. We were gone an entire week and visited historic and beautiful and touristy sites. We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village that has more stores and restaurants than Payson. We performed at the Polynesian Cultural Center, the Manoa Ward in Honolulu, and aboard the USS Missouri at Pearl Harbor. We had a wonderful time!
